Viewing a user activity report

You can consult the User activity report to review all user-related activities. Use the report for auditing purposes, download a copy to attach to an audit request to review offline, or manipulate or consolidate data in a spreadsheet for other audiences.

What you should know

  • Only Account administrator can view the User activity report and review audit trail information.
  • The report is empty if there is no activity logged by area owners or managers, role managers, or role members in your Genetec ClearID™ system.

Procedure

  1. From the Home page, click Reports > User activity .
  2. In the User activity report tab, select how you want times displayed:
    Display time in local
    Uses your computer’s system time.
    Display time in UTC
    Uses Coordinated Universal Time.
  3. Filter the report based on your required criteria:
    Timestamp
    Click to filter the results by date. Select a pre-defined date range from the choices available or enter a specific date range using the date range picker.

    (Optional) Use the sort icons ( and ) to display the results in descending or ascending order.
    Activity type
    Click to filter the results.
    Performed by
    Click to open a search dialog and search for activities done by a specific user or by the system.

    Details
    Click to search activity details or reasons.
    (Optional)
    Click to reset filters.
  4. Click Download CSV to download a copy of the User activity report.
    • Follow your browser prompts to complete downloading the exported file.
    • The file is exported as a .CSV file to the default download location and is created using the report name and download date. For example, UserActivities_2022-02-14.csv.
    • The columns and entries in the CSV file vary depending on the filters you selected when you downloaded the report.
