Identity synchronization

ClearID uses a single identity to synchronize the access information for multiple independent sites managed using different instances of Synergis.

To minimize the personal information stored in local access control systems, ClearID creates a cardholder record only when a person receives access to a site for the first time.

When the synchronization setting is enabled, the system automatically synchronizes all permanent credentials associated with the identity after access is granted to a new site. If the organization uses the same card technology across sites, the badge works at the new site without manual intervention.

When an identity is deactivated in ClearID, the cardholder is deactivated. The identity is automatically synchronized to all cardholders linked to all the different areas in all sites. The credentials remain active in Security Center, but access is automatically denied because the cardholder is inactive.
