About workflows

Genetec ClearID™ uses workflows to process access, visit, or identity requests, and to approve or reject them.

Depending on how you configure your sites and areas, some of the workflow processes might not apply to your environment.

Request workflows

A workflow is a series of activities performed by the system or authorized people during the life cycle of a request. These activities can:
  • Change the request’s state or properties.
  • Affect other entities in the system.
  • Wait for conditions to be met.

The following workflows support the different request types:

Access request
Manages requests for access to secure areas.
Visit request
Manages requests to visit a site.
Visit request with watchlist
If watchlists are enabled, manages visit requests and compares visitors against watchlists.
Identity request
Creates a single identity or multiple identities with a CSV import, and assigns them to a role to inherit the relevant access for a set period.
Role membership request
Manages requests for membership to up to five roles.
