About site visibility

In Genetec ClearID™, site visibility determines how users see resources and identities for the sites managed by the same ClearID account.

In cases where different branches, subsidiaries, or tenant companies in a managed building are part of the same ClearID account, site visibility limits the employees who are visible.
  • ClearID creates a view that limits the visibility of site resources like areas and identities per identity.
  • By default, portal users can see identities and areas associated with their primary site and can make access, role membership, identity, and visit event requests for these resources.
  • Identity visibility is determined by primary site. If an identity doesn't have a primary site, then it isn't visible to portal users.
  • Site owners automatically have visibility for their site, but aren't visible to users with regular site visibility.
  • Account administrators can grant site visibility manually, or it can be inherited based on user level or primary site.
  • When enabled, site visibility doesn't revoke area access previously granted to identities.
