Customizing SMS alerts

In Genetec ClearID™, SMS alerts are automatically sent to visit hosts to inform them when visitors check in. Site owners can customize SMS alerts to give hosts information about where visitors have checked in and the email address used to contact them.

What you should know

  • ClearID uses a default message when there isn't a custom SMS alert:
    • {VisitorFirstname} {VisitorLastname} has arrived for {VisitEventName}. {VisitorEmail}
  • Custom SMS alerts can contain up to 250 characters.

Procedure

  1. Click Organization > Sites
  2. Search for and select a site, then click the Notifications tab.
  3. In the Visitor check-in SMS section, type a message for the SMS alert.

    Select a tag to insert the corresponding field in the text of the alert. Fields pull information from visit events. For example, Device name inserts the name of the kiosk the visitor used to check in.
    Best Practice:
    In buildings with Self-Service Kiosks placed in multiple locations, name your devices according to where they're located.
  4. Click Save.
  5. (Optional) Click Restore default.
