Activating visitor photo retention

As a Site owner you can activate visitor photo retention to save photos of visitors taken during check-in to the Genetec ClearID™ web portal. You can access saved visitor photos for incident management and auditing purposes.

Before you begin

Configure the Self-Service Kiosk iPad and enable visitor photos during check-in.

What you should know

  • You must be a Site owner to turn on visitor photo retention.
  • Visitor photo during check-in must be turned on to store visitor photos in ClearID.

Procedure

  1. In the ClearID web portal, click Organization > Site > Visitor management > Kiosks .
  2. In the Kiosk options section, turn on the Store photos in ClearID option.

    Note:
    Visitor photo during check-in is turned on by default.
  3. Click Save.
    Visitor photos are stored in ClearID.
    Note:
    The default retention period is 1 year, and the maximum is 3 years. The retention period is configurable by site to comply with the different data laws that might apply in your region. For more information, see Enabling visitor management for sites.
  4. (Optional) View saved visitor photos.
    1. In the ClearID web portal, click Reports > Visitors .
    2. Filter the report as needed.
    3. View the saved photos in the Pictures column, or select a visit event to view the visit details.
