Forcing credential synchronization

2026-04-24Last updated

To resolve credential issues, you can force a synchronization to replace all credentials in Genetec ClearID™. This forced synchronization uses the latest values from your selected credential source and triggers the synchronization immediately.

Before you begin

What you should know

  • Only an Account administrator can force credential synchronization.
  • After credential synchronization settings have been configured, the synchronization is automatic.
  • A forced synchronization is useful:
    • During initial setup, to ensure all credentials are propagated.
    • After switching from specific system mode to primary site mode, to immediately align credentials with the new configuration.
  • Synchronization throughput is about 10 credentials per second, but this may vary depending on the machine running the ClearID plugin and the number of assigned credentials.
  • If issues occur, the Account administrator can review logs, troubleshoot, and force a synchronization if needed.
  • If No synchronization between access control systems was selected during setup, the force synchronization option is not available.

Procedure

  1. From the homepage, click Administration > Credentials .
  2. In the Force credential synchronization section, click Synchronize.
  3. In the Synchronize dialog, click Synchronize.
The request to synchronize credentials is initiated.

No further progress is reported in the Credentials tab.

After you finish

Review the Credential synchronization logs to confirm that credentials information has been updated with the latest information.
